I have been lost…not in a bad or scary way. I have been lost without even knowing it and sometimes, when I was aware of it, it left me feeling nothing but frustrated. Playtime was needed
That’s the important word there – play. When I play or create, I feel better about me. I don’t beat myself nealy as much. I feel more confident. I am careful not to create for approval because I have done that. That’s something I’m learning about and changing. My goal is to create what’s inside of me.
Rowena, creator of Warrior Girl, has had an ongoing challenge that I’ve quietly been working on. Everyday I have played with no sense of direction and that has led me to a new road. This piece which is also a part of today’s Thursday Sweet Treat challenge is the first piece I am sharing from this new play space. There are more to come. This piece is about more than cheerleading it’s about remembering that we can and should play with lots of things just as we can reinvent ourselves as often as we like in an effort to move along and explore the path we are on.
I worried that the center piece on this looked like a penis at first. I assure you it’s not. It is a bottle filled with words and color just as we are. It is a candle filled with light, love, color and and words…it is all of us.
Have you ever felt lost? How do you reconnect with yourself?
Natasha, that’s exciting! How do you find the time?
Haha about your disclaimer about the centerpiece. Are you sure you’re not one of Disney’s animators?
You asked, Have you ever felt lost? – Well, yes!
How do you reconnect with yourself? – Taking a walk, writing and dancing…
Come and pick-up the I Love This Blog Award, whenever you can!
Bottle? Candle? Penis?
it’s beautiful. Lost? We all are. Best way to reconnect is to create and you’re doing it beautifully x
I’m so glad you are doing this, even if you aren’t sharing. And sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you. I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. Trying to do all the creating but feeling like I am letting so many things slide.
So here I am catching up with you, thinking about the other things I have to do. It’s crazy.
So I guess I know what you’re talking about.
I also feel like this project is leading me down a different road. A new place with my art. I wish I could get a handle on the living and the business, though. Maybe that requires a new kind of project.
I feel lost right now. It will pass. It does.
But more important…I’m sorry I haven’t been by in so long. I like reading your blog, but keeping up with everyone…
Anyway, it is great to see you’re doing rowena’s 100. That’s awesome. You’re awesome. Keep up the work!
Hi, Natasha!!! sooooooooooooo glad to hear you have been doing the 100 in 100 project! but why “quietly”???? YOur work is so heartfelt and full of joy and childlike life and love. It NEEDS to be shared. I’m glad you did here, and I never ONCE thought of “penis” until you mentioned it
The journal is wondeful and I especially like the colored lettering.
I have missed so much on your blog! I’m going to have to spend some time tomorrow night catching up – hope your summer is going well (I know what you mean with the feeling lost…..I often feel that way)
take care!!
