In Need of a Little Flavor

Over the last couple of days, I pondered what I would do for Artsyville’s weekword, Flavor. When I woke this morning, I knew. As I looked upon the sad, empty, little Raisinet box that wee hands had ransacked, I knew the Flavor I would need most in the world, the one that I would be obsessed with today was chocolate. Preggo ladies NEED their chocolate…well, at least this one does. Now, to get some more and keep it under lock and key…..

Hey Natasha, I followed you over here from Dirtyfootprints! I LOVE the raisenette box! And I thought using cookie boxes as covers for journals was out of the box–this is just waaaay out of the box, like the vanished raisenettes!
I just noticed, I have way too many names
Thanks for the comments on my blog and always such a treat to see your smiling face next to anything my silly butt has written-get on over here East Coast girly anytime and hang out in the California sunshine! My little story with Raisnets goes like this:
I grew up in Fresno, CA home of the California Raisins and overloaded as a kid with “raisins” as practically our local anthem. We got raisins at least 3 times a week in our school lunches provided by the school or by Mom in the uber cool Dukes of Hazzard lunchbox I carried. Raisins, raisins, raisins, raisins.
My birthday is Halloween so not only was I lucky enough to get presents and cake and friends to hang out with on my day, but I got to dress up and get sack loads of candy! Now, having raisins as such a huge part of my life whether I liked it or not, I was extremely against the concept of having candy melded with raisins! In other words, I detested Raisinets with a fierce passion, feeling completely like they were a huge cop-out by any adult who had the nerve to pass them off as “candy”, and resenting the whole offensive nature of ruining perfectly good chocolate with More Frickin Raisins!!
Needless to say I love them now, and I hope your happy pregnant self hordes as much chocolate as you can manage to pry away from your little rugrats
I just had raisinets in a movie theater the other day and loved them! Mothers of teenagers really NEED chocolate. Honest.
